Conceptual Framework for Information Literacy Education in Japanese Public Libraries

This paper submit a conceptual framework which can withstand constructive discussions on information literacy education in japanese public libraries. The researcher analyzed 13 reviews on information literacy, information literacy education, and library use education. Each concept summarized was organized from two perspectives: How information literacy education implement is distinguished public formal service, public nonformal or informal service, and technical service; and what information literacy education provide is distinguished contents of library use education, information literacy learned in japanese public libraries, and information literacy that is not taught in japanese public libraries. The researcher presented a perspective on what kind of discussion such a conceptual framework might raise.
